Rainbow E2 Water-Filtration Cleaning System
Centrifugal Separator Cleaning & Dynamic Balancing Inspection
Spinning at over 20,000 RPM, the centrifugal separator creates a high-velocity physical vortex barrier. When lint and hair collect in the flutes, airflow plummets and balance is compromised.
Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide
- Unscrew the Center Nut: Using the official Rainbow wrench or a flat tool, turn the brass retaining nut clockwise (note reverse thread on select E2 models) and carefully lift off the separator cone.
- Brush Clean the Vane Flutes: Use the genuine cleaning brush under running tap water to dislodge every trapped strand of hair and mineral grit.
- Inspect for Vane Damage: Examine all radial fins. Chipped or broken vanes cause dynamic eccentricity, exerting extreme radial vibration on the motor shaft.
- Firm Hand-Tightening: Re-mount the separator onto the hex spindle, verifying flat seating, and securely retighten the nut.
Dynamic Balance Warning: Never operate your Rainbow without the separator properly mounted and secured. Running without it throws water directly into the high-speed turbine.

How to safely remove, brush clean, and inspect the Rainbow dynamic centrifugal separator to maintain peak airflow and rotor balance.
